Hey all, Alexa here, and I decided to do something a bit different this week. Over on my personal blog, Summer Snowflakes, Heather tagged me for the Quote Challenge, and I had a lot of fun sharing my favorite quotes. So, because I wanted to do something different and I still had some lovely lines to share, I thought I’d bring the tag over here and post a few more of my favorites for you guys. 🙂
Post your 3 favorite quotes, one each for three consecutive days.
With each post nominate three bloggers for the challenge.
Recognize the blogger who nominated you.
Obviously, I didn’t do it for three consecutive days, lol. But by the end of this post, I will have shared 12 quotes altogether (because I couldn’t possibly pick just three; there’s too much beauty in the literary world for that). So yeah, overall, I feel pretty good about how I did with this tag. 🙂
“Success becomes a habit, like anything else a fellow keeps on doing.” ~
From These Happy Golden Years by Laura Ingalls Wilder
She realized how deliberately careful nearly all of his expressions were. Not guarded and secretive like Arthur, but… shielded. As though he were afraid of ever feeling what he actually felt, of putting on anything other than a brave, practical face.
He [Thomas] was terrified all the time.
Her heart fluttered with the recognition of someone else who understood what it was to forever try to be strong and constantly come up short. ~
From In The Shadows by Kiersten White
There are so many ways to be brave in this world. Sometimes bravery involves laying down your life for something bigger than yourself, or for someone else. Sometimes it involves giving up everything you have ever known, or everything you have ever loved for the sake of something greater.
But sometimes it doesn’t.
Sometimes it is nothing more than gritting your teeth through the pain, and the work of every day, the slow walk toward a better life. ~
From Allegiant by Veronica Roth
*sighs happily* I love deep quotes about life. It’s just so gorgeous when someone so perfectly captures a piece of the human experience in just a few words. ❤
So what’d you think of these quotes? Read any of these books? Got a quote to share with me? I’d love to hear it!
